Incredible cars, incredible people and Incredible Pizza!
What a night!
It started out at Skilman Ford and the incredible collection of cars at the "museum"! As I walk into this building the drool started coming from my chin. Napkin please! Photos are posted up on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/buffalotoburbank. I was greeted by several cars at Skilman where we went to view all kinds of classsics. I have my two all picked out! Of course I would pick a classic Dodge Challenger but the unexpected Thunderbird stole my heart too! I just love those fins in the back!
After that it was a short trip to "The Suds" for a photo shoot with fellow Saleen Owner and SCOA member, Jason Smith. It's a local "Drive in" restaurant. Jason's Saleen is donning the original Mineral Gray that the Pink Pony use to be. It was just fitting to have the two pair up for a few pictures.
Next stop: Incredible Pizza with Incredible People and more Incredible cars!
This is not just your average pizza place either. The manager was incredible, the food was incredible and heck they even have a room dedicated to Route 66! If that wasn't enough "incredibleness", then let me tell you, the people I met tonight were great! A big thanks to Sue Likens for getting this cruise night together. She did an awesome job! And thank you to Incredible Pizza and everybody that came out!
I'm looking forward to Chicago tomorrow. I hear there's a bit of a rival (all in fun of course) between Jason (Indy) and Scott (Chicago) via the Saleen club of America, ... the challenge is on!

Planes, Trains, Automobiles and Semi Trucks? - Day 2 Cleveland
8 AM hit way too early today but somehow I managed to get up and get myself moving. I am not sure what the temperature was outside, but I am sure glad it was an indoor show! Once again a big thanks to Craig for helping me get the car in order and his wife Dottie for giving me a short break during the show. I spent most of my day at the table and car. Unfortunate for me, I missed Chip Foose. He left on a plane last night before I arrived. Darn the luck!
At the end of the show I did manage to sneak off and get some cool pictures of some cool "Piston Powered" vehicles. I don't think I've ever seen a bomber and a classic in the same building at the same time. Below are some of the photos I was able to get.
To think there aren't many pink cars floating around but how about a pink semi truck?
Not only is it pink, but it's pink for a good cause!
Speaking of causes, the final numbers aren't in for Erie yet, but if we go by standings for donations that we know of so far, then here are the cities in order:

Tomorrow we head off to Incredible Pizza in Indianapolis! It's supposed to be sunny and warm. I'm looking forward to having to use my sunglasses! If you're in the Indy area, here's the address:

Cloudy with a chance of Mustangs - Day 1
Hello from Cleveland!
It has been a long day. If I weren't so excited I most likely would not have gotten up at the crack of not even dawn! I was hoping for some great weather but that didn't quite happen but the show must go on!
We met at Cheektowaga town park at 12 Noon. It was a great turn out as far as I'm concerned. My family and friends were there to see me off even though you would think it was ready to s n o w. Donning our winter jackets, you would have thought it was really December outside. Once the party got started, it was already time to hit the road and so we did, with a police escort to see us to the thruway. Some of us parted and others drove down to Erie where we met with 6 Mustangs from the Lake Erie Mustang Owners Club.
We were greeted by Al, the president of the club and others who unfortunately I cannot remember all of their names (Sorry!). After a mini photo shoot at the PA welcome center, we were off to Max and Erma's Restaurant for some good food and fun.
Even though the weather was still rainy and almost as cold as Buffalo, there was quite a nice turnout of cars and people. Max and Erma's Manager was kind enough to give LEMOC their side room to keep all of us nice and warm.
There were door prizes, basket raffle, 50/50 and of course many Mustangs. At around 4:30 we all hopped in our cars and it was time to move on. Several Mustangs from Max and Erma's took a cruise into Ohio with me. We parted ways at Highway 11 and off to Cleveland I went. Many thanks to Barb and Al from LEMOC for all of your help in pulling this together and thank you to your club for showing the support on such a rainy day like today! It was great "cruising" with all of you!
When I get the numbers from Barb I will let everybody know how we did in Erie.
At around 6:30 PM I pulled into my hotel, unloaded my bags, cleaned up and out the door I went heading for the IX Center. Wow is that place BIG! I was greeted by Saleen Club of America member Craig Cooper who along with Rick LeBeau had been a tremendous help in getting Cleveland off the ground. He gave me quick tour around and saw some amazing cars, trucks and planes. By 8:30 the pony was indoors. I spent the next 45 minutes detailing it (and it's not done yet) while the guys were getting my spot ready for me. The car was in place by 9:30.
Tomorrow will be an early day for me at the IX center. Expect many more pictures! But for tonight, Good Night everybody!

T-minus 2 days
For the outpouring of faith, hope and love that I have received when Bob was sick I spent two years thinking of how I could give back. On a whim I decided back in November of last year that I would take my Pink Pony across country to raise awareness for breast cancer. This Saturday, October 1st, I am leaving on what could be the biggest journey of my lifetime.
At 12 Noon there will be a gathering of cruise cars, friends and family for the big send off of a month long trip to Burbank CA. There will be several cruisers joining me as far as Erie PA and Cleveland OH but after that I'm on my own. Or am I?
Throughout the year I have found support from my family and friends but even more so, total strangers that I will finally meet face to face. With the help of friends, Facebook and certain magazines, I was suddenly in contact with several people across the USA. Cruise nights are in place, fundraisers are ready to go, TV and Radio spots are waiting. All I have to do is start driving. I can't wait! Although I wish I had another week to prepare, I wish it were Saturday! I have many new friends to meet and all for a good cause.
It's Thursday! It will be a hectic day as I start packing, finalizing my routes, making the rest of the hotel reservations, making sure the last minute details are dealt with. Stay tuned as I blog my adventures of 110 hours of driving for the month of October.

What would we do if the electricity went out?
I went bowling the other day. It just isn't the same as when I was growing up. I actually had to keep score. I wonder how many kids today would know how to do that.
A few years ago, I remember we had a power outage that lasted a few days. Several stores were closed. because they couldn't use their cash register and credit card machines. Did we forget how to add? Did we forget how to write? I had a business. I also had a cash drawer, pencil and paper to add, subtract and multiply, and credit card slips. Do you remember them? Manual credit card slips! My phone was even working because it wasn't cordless! Speaking of phones, when was the last time you had to actually "dial" a number on a telephone? If you dialed a number wrong, you had to start all over again. I don't think my kids ever saw a telephone with a dial on it. I will reiterate if the electric did go out, your phone still worked.
Have you gotten up to change the station on your TV lately? We had a remote control. It was wired and only about 4 feet long. It didn't do much good. Now I have 4 wireless remotes with so many buttons on them, I think they belonged on the starship enterprise! (If only I could use one of them to get me a glass of Pepsi right now). With today's technology, you don't even have to leave your house to rent a movie or even load your DVD player. Just a few clicks with a keyboard, mouse or remote and you have instant access. I, on the other hand, remember having to remove the VCR tape from the VCR, move it to another device to rewind the tape and then put it away. Of course, you don't have to be home anymore to watch movies. They are available for download with a simple touch to your iPod or other various smart phone devices.
Speaking of leaving home, how many can still read a map? How many people have ever seen a map? You know what I'm talking about. It comes folded in 28 million different ways, about a yard long and wide. It has a ton of lines on it with all kinds of numbers and dots. These were replaced with GPS's, smart phones and internet maps. The best thing about a paper map (other than finding the destination) was getting it to fold back the way it came. Now that was using brain power!
Today's brain power consists of going to a search engine and typing a word to get your information. When is the last time you went to the library to look up an article in a periodical or an encyclopedia? Do they even make encyclopedias now? Does anybody really own a dictionary? Are there any libraries anymore?
After all, who needs books? We have the iPad, Nook and Kindle. Are we that lazy that we don't want to turn a page anymore?
With such a high tech society, I hope the power never goes out. We would be lost without it. But if it does go out, I certainly hope its not until summer. It's too much work to build a fire in my fire pit. Besides I'm having too much fun playing on my Xbox, Playstation and WII while watching a movie through the internet and ordering pizza online via credit card to be delivered. I knew I could get that Pepsi brought to me. Now only if my cat would answer the door and bring me my food. Then I would never have to leave the couch!
